PRESENTATION:

The Mussels Route (Ruta de las mejilloneras) was created the year 2006 by the purpose to let the people know the extraordinary product that it is cultivated in the trays of mussels and oysters of the Alfacs Bay.

It is a guided route sailing in a boat by the coast and beaches of Sant Carles de la Ràpita , reaching "La Punta de la Banya" (favoured place to see either autochthonous and migratory birds). Crossing the bay we arrive to a platform called "La Casesta del Parrillo" where we find Agustí Bertomeu, President of the Producer's Union. Once we arrive to the platform there is an explanation about history, culture and phases of production to, later on, do the taste, first of oysters and after of mussels, everything accompanied with "cava" (wine-cellar). Once done the taste, we return to port.

The weekly exit is realized every Saturday at 11:00 a.m., always whith previous reservation calling 600.44.75.87, and it has a duration of 2 hours.

For groups more than 20 persons, the exits will be to being convenient, except on Saturday morning.
